How Attractive Are You?
What is known as “The Secret” or the Law of Attraction is a very strong and real force and its as universal as the law of gravity. Now some may argue that there is no scientific merit to the Law of Attraction, but from what I have seen I’m conviced that our thoughts do play a large role in our lives.
The Law of Attraction simple stated says – People’s thoughts (both conscious and unconscious) dictate the reality of their lives, whether or not they’re aware of it. Essentially “if you really want something and truly believe it’s possible, you’ll get it”, but putting a lot of attention and thought onto something you don’t want means you’ll probably get that too.
We’ve all seen those that focus on negativity and those that focus on positivity and the differences in their lives.
Now, if there is anything to be said for desire and want, it’s that if we do desire something bad enough generally it will come our way. You’ve heard the saying “Be careful what you wish for…” right? There is much truth to that.
From a branding perspective the application is simple – Make your brand as attractive as possible. If you can stir up an emotion of want, need or strong desire for your products, then you will always have a customer. Just take a look at your surroundings and notice those items that you once desired so badly – car, house, shoes, surfboard, etc… Remember the satisfaction that you got once the item became your possession. As a company selling a product, you want your customer to get that same feeling of satisfaction when they put down hard earned cash on your goods.
I see many different brands out there selling the same items. A t-shirt is a great example. Most tees are made of the same quality, they generally cost the same and rarely is there a huge variance in design or color way (although some may argue that point). So when a customer is staring at the wall of tees and they are holding your brand in one hand and your competitors in the other, what’s the deciding factor (million dollar question)? This is where the law of attraction kicks in. The t-shirt they desire most will win and it always will. This goes for all products. Do you ever buy something you don’t want?
Ask yourself how attractive your brand is – How attractive are your products, your packaging, your advertisements, etc…?
Again, the Law of Attraction has not been scientifically proven with hardcore facts (at least not that I know of). However, I’d venture to say that the Law of Attraction is relevant and can be applied to your brand today.
I mean every school has a prom queen right?
