Twitter into the Future….
Lately I’ve been twitting a whole heck of a lot. I have somewhat ingrained it into my daily routine without even giving it much thought. I actually prefer twitting and updating my twits more than I do, let’s say… changing my status of Myspace or adding friends via Facebook. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy social networking on those sites as much as the next guy, but I’m also very busy and posting 140 words or less is right up my alley. Not to mention I can also add photos and links from my handy iPhone.
What I noticed is that what I truly enjoy most (from a social networking standpoint) is staying up to date with what my friends and associates are up to. It’s great. I can know what the owner of an apparel company or main editor of a magazine are up to frequently throughout the day. I find their updates compelling, educational and insightful even if its a Pro Basketball player saying that he was recently hanging out with Mickey Rourke.
I do however have to say that I am NOT into Twit users that use this as their platform to continually blast updates about regurgitated information. Remember that people like to connect with people, not machines, computers and mindless droids.
So my secret to good fun twitting is simply to let your Followers know that that they are actually Following a Real Person on the other side, the rest as they say will Follow…
