The Role of Philanthropy in Action Sports Events
Part of our philosophy is to always give back to the community by involving worthy causes that make sense for our projects.
The question is “Does it always make sense to involve a nonprofit?”. The answer is definitely not.
It is true that you can gain a lot if you work with a nonprofit. Not only do you contribute to a cause you and your industry cares about, you also increase your chances for more and better publicity. But it is not always the right choice to make.
When you start a project, look at your marketing and PR objectives, your target market and the different players in your project, and always ask yourself what the benefits of involving a charity would be, both for you and the nonprofit. Don’t forget, if you do an event right, most of the time, you should already be contributing to the local community.
